Cold

“I wish we were home.”

“Me too. It’s so cold now with all this snow on the ground.”

“Wind is cold too. I can barely feel my legs and my feet feel like cold lumps of iron.”

“Why can’t we go faster?”

“To dangerous. There’s ice under the snow. If there is a misstep, could end up with a broken leg.”

“How much farther before we are home?”

“I don’t think it’s that far anymore. Less than two miles I think.”

”I hope so. I feel like I am slowly freezing to death moving this slowly.”

“Hang in there. We can’t be too far away now.”

“This wind is so cold. I’d rather have it warmer. Not use to it being this cold.”

“Me too, it’s been a long time since I was this cold. I hope we can get some extra blankets to get us warm.”

“I’m sure we can. There’s plenty there.”

“Hey, I think I see some lights ahead.”

“I see it too. We’re finally home. Time for warmth and food.”

“Let’s hurry now. I can see the barn ahead of us. At least we can get out of this wind.”

“Ahhh…this feels so good! No wind and it’s a lot warmer in here.”

“Now if they will just hurry and get these saddles off of us and a blanket on, we will be nice and warm real fast.” Barranca said to his buddy Ghost, as their riders dismounted and started to unsaddle them in the warm barn.
