The Eliot Series - Overview

For those that don't know, the Eliot Series is a Scott-centric series with a healthy dollop of Johnny in many of its episodes (Those marked with an asterisk *). It begins in early 1872 shortly after the TV series ends. The series links to my back stories for Murdoch and Scott, From Highlands to Homecoming and Circumstances. It also links to Doc’s Widow Morris Series; however readers should be aware that Doc (Terri D.) and my back stories for Johnny have significant differences. When you read the Eliot Series you are dealing with my version of Johnny’s pre-Lancer life.

It is certainly not essential to read the earlier stories to enjoy the Eliot Series, and it is not essential to read each story in the series in order, but those who do will get the most out of my Lancer world as I interweave. Information from one episode may reappear in another. My original characters develop over time, and a lesser character introduced in one story could be referred to or even given new life in a later story.

Here are the stories in order from February to October, 1872:

No. 1 Past Imperfect*
No. 2 The Visit*
No. 3 The Only Way to have a Friend is to be One*, by Margaret P. and Doc. (Fits within The Visit.)
No. 4 Unfinished Business
No. 5 Letters of Friendship: My Dear Friend, Katie by Doc, and Dearest Emily by Margaret P. (The brothers are discussed in these letters, but obviously do not appear.)
No. 6 Permission
No. 7 What Katie Did
No. 8 Trust Me*
No. 9 Sod’s Law*
No. 10 What Katie Said*
No. 11 Cold Water Helps*
No. 12 Between the Lines
No. 13 Of Mice and Scott Lancer*
No. 14 Like Moths to a Flame
No. 15 Every Father’s Right (Scott is the subject of discussion, but none of the Lancers actually appear.)
No. 16 Family Matters*
No. 17 Twelve Days*
