Synopsis
Before he found his sons, Murdoch offered a partnership to an old friend, lawman Joe Baker.  Although Baker didn't take him up on it at the time, he's now facing enforced retirement and comes through Lancer escorting a prisoner (who knows Johnny) to Sacremento, intending to accept Murdoch's offer.  He's taken aback at finding Murdoch has his sons back and the offer no longer stands.  Desperate for money, Baker allows his prisoner to escape.  One of the deputies is killed, Johnny is in the wrong place at the wrong time and accused of complicity in the escape, and Scott and Murdoch work to clear Johnny of murder.  Baker eventually confesses to letting Evans escape and is arrested, with Johnny's innocence proved,
